SELLERS EARNS WCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Pacific Softball’s Sellers Earns WCC Honor

STOCKTON, Calif. – Rachel Sellers was named the WCC Player of the Week announced on Monday. This is the catcher’s third career nomination and her first of her senior campaign.

Sellers garners the conference honor after a stellar performance at the plate this weekend in the CSUN Matador Classic. Sellers went 7-12 and knocked in four RBI’s during a four-game stretch against CSUN, Georgia Tech, and Cal Poly. This was Sellers’ best series of hitting during a four-game slate all season.

The Los Alamitos, Calif. native drove in a hit and an RBI in each of the Tigers’ games for a total of 11 bases. Sellers also had two extra-base hits, an RBI double against CSUN and a solo home run shot against Cal Poly in the Orange and Black’s games on Saturday.

Sellers ranks first on the team in On Base Percentage (.459) and second in batting average with a .366 clip.

The Tigers take on University of Cal on April 3rd to wrap up nonconference play. First pitch between the two teams is scheduled for 4:00 PM at Bill Simoni Field. The Bears are currently 24-8 on the year.
