Five Men’s Soccer Players Named WCC All-Academic

STOCKTON, Calif. – Five Pacific men’s soccer players were honored as West Coast Conference Men’s Soccer All-Academic selections on Wednesday, including two on the All-Academic Team.

Juniors Bob Groenendijk and Wouter Verstraatenearned WCC All-Academic Team honors. Groenendijk owns a 3.72 GPA in Business Administration (Finance), while Verstraaten owns a 3.61 GPA, also in Business Administration (Finance).

Pacific’s two Academic Team members was tied for the most among the West Coast Conference’s eight men’s soccer programs.

Christian AldamaTyson Fox, and Camden Rileyeach earned WCC Academic Honorable Mention accolades.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average while also being a significant contributor to his team.

The Tigers wrapped the 2017 season with a 13-4-2 record, advancing to the NCAA Second round for the second straight season. The Tigers drew No. 3 Stanford, 0-0, with the Cardinal advancing on penalty kicks.
